4月8日の日曜日、念願かなって「南アルプス桃源郷マラソン大会」に参加しました。私がエントリーしたのはハーフマラソンの部でした。生まれて初めてのマラソンイベント参加でしたが、連れて行ってくださった教会員の方々のおかげで、緊張しすぎることもなく楽しく参加することが出来ました。

会場は南アルプス市です。富士山や南アルプスの眺め、そして美しい桃の花を楽しむことが出来ました。コースの沿道で応援してくださる市民の方々、また給水所で水やスポーツドリンクを用意してくださる大会ボランティアの方々にも支えられて、無事に完走することが出来ました。

登山やマラソンは、しばしば人生にたとえられますが、その通りだなあと感じました。使徒パウロはこのように書いています。

わたしは、戦いを立派に戦い抜き、決められた道を走りとおし、信仰を守り抜きました。今や、義の栄冠を受けるばかりです。正しい審判者である主が、かの日にそれをわたしに授けてくださるのです。しかし、わたしだけでなく、主が来られるのをひたすら待ち望む人には、だれにでも授けてくださいます。

私たちの人生には予期せぬ出来事が起きます。神様を見失ってしまうことや、神様を信じて生きることを諦めたくなるようなこともあります。しかし、最後まで主を待ち望み、走り通した者すべてに、神様は義の冠を用意していてくださるのです。共に励まし合い、支え合いながら決められた道を走り通りたいものです。

On Sunday, April 8, I participated in the half marathon. That was my first marathon event. However, the church members were with me, so I was able to enjoy it. I was able to enjoy the beautiful view of Mt. Fuji and the mountains of the Southern Alps. And the peach blossoms were beautiful.

Thanks to the cheers and the volunteers who supported us, I was able to finish the race.

A marathon is often likened to life. The apostle Paul said.

 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.(2Timothy 4:7,8 NIV)

An unexpected incident often occurs in our life. It is sometimes difficult to keep believing in God. But God has promised. He will give a crown to the one who keep waiting for the Lord and run until to the end of life.

We belong to the church for that. I want to encourage each other and I’d like to arrive at the goal with you.
